Finikounda is a small fishing village on the southern coast of Messinia, tucked between Methoni and Koroni on one of the most unspoiled stretches of coastline in the Peloponnese. It is the kind of place where the beach is two minutes from your door, the tavernas serve the morning catch, and the biggest decision of the day is which cove to swim in.
Yes. The main beach is sandy with calm, shallow water — ideal for young children. The village is small, safe, and walkable. There are mini-markets, bakeries, and family-friendly tavernas within a few minutes of any accommodation.
The village itself is very walkable, and the main beach is steps away. However, if you want to explore surrounding areas like Methoni, Koroni, or Pylos, you will need transport. We offer day trip transfers and can arrange flexible schedules during your stay.
June and September offer the best balance of warm weather, calm seas, and fewer crowds. July and August are hotter and busier but still enjoyable. Windsurfers will find the best conditions from mid-June through August, when the afternoon Meltemi winds are most consistent.
